Do Scandinavian agencies want to sell additional add on rail products?


I ask this, as one of the top business and leisure destinations is London, yet in both Sweden and Norway none of the GDS using agencies can issue their customers the modern e-tickets for the Heathrow Express into town.

 

They are available:

- offering good commission to you the agent

- Give your clients good additional customer service

- Enable pre payment before travel to your clients


It has been said that if it is not in the GDS then it cannot be sold....... Yet Denmark disproves this, as a few GDS using agents DO offer this facility to their customers, but many do not, why is that ?

Yes I know :-) that is my point, you and a couple of others are in DK, many are not though - whereas none in Sweden or Norway (including yourselves who used to)sell this do ??

We are too busy. Maybe the clients will think at this service as added value but today we have too much to do and check before we have a transaction finsished. Also the clients wants 3 or 4 alternatives to every flight travel and we should mail and invoice them with statistics i.e. loss or savings... If theres no money in it I think that could be the reson why this service is not offered!

I believe our biggest challenge is that we forget how to do from time to time. How about "spamming" us travelagents with visits and maybe a laminated quick reference guide for each of our desks? Maybe that would help ;o)

I don't understand this discussion at all. We earn commision on this product, that's a benefit for us. And our clients definetively appriciate one stop shopping solutions at our agency.... Regards Kenn

Kenn, not a problem for your customers as you have and offer this facility :-) to XL I have visited all head offices in Scandinavia and most say the same as Geoff.......
